Two months after opening its second data center, managed hosting provider SingleHop has announced the results for its fiscal 2009 second quarter, which ended June 30, showing a 19 percent increase in revenue from the previous quarter.
According to SingleHop's announcement, growth in new server installations more than doubled compared to the same period last year, and increased 15 percent over last quarter. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased 36 percent over the first quarter.
During the second quarter, SingleHop focused its efforts on providing customers more control and capacity. It released LEAPmobile, which provides customers with mobile control over their servers using devices including the iPhone, BlackBerry, Google's Android-based phones, and others. Earlier it had opened its 1 Gbps "Private Network," an SSL-VPN gateway for ultra-secure server connections. In May, SingleHop began providing all customers free 100Mbps Uplink ports.
SingleHop also completed the second phase of their network upgrades throughout the quarter, investing more than $300,000 to triple its capacity to 80 Gbps throughout the network, as well as increasing redundancy and reliability.
"The company had excellent second quarter progress, both in numbers and accomplishments," chief executive officer and president Zak Boca said in a statement. "We are especially proud of the benefits that a second data center offers to all of our clients, in both extra capacity and disaster recovery. Our development team continued to improve the features provided to our clients."
SingleHop also reported a significant increase in its average revenue per user compared to the first quarter of 2009. Boca said SingleHop is not only helping customers grow their businesses, but they are finding extra value in its products and services.
"Ultimately, though, it was a quarter full of investments toward the future, with the hiring of a Senior Network Engineer, the investment in our network, the launching of an ultra secure and fast private network and the opening of our second data center," Boca said.
